Another exciting festival announcement for Head North … This summer we’ll be winding our way to the Highlands to play at Tartan Heart Festival Festival near Beauly on the Friday 7th August. It’ll be our first foray north o’ the border, but we’re hoping to win over a few Scottish hearts with our unique blend of celtic folk.
Hot on the heels of our sell-out charity fundraiser gig at Crondall, Head North will be back in action at St. Mary’s Church in Eversley on Saturday 25th April. Please do come and support us and support the Church Building Fund.
We are proud to have played our part, last Thursday, in the inaugural Rock’n’Oil dinner and gig which raised a phenomenal £65K for the RNLI.
The event, held in the Grand Connaught Rooms in London, was conceived by our very own Andrew Rose, and styled as a ‘battle of the bands’ between Head North and Aberdeen-based band Red Dawg. In the end 450 guests turned up in what was one of the biggest fundraising events of the year for the RNLI, even being featured in the Sunday Times.
Well done Andrew and to all who helped make the event a tremendous success!
For those digitally-minded souls amongst us, our debut album, Head North!, is now available for download at all major music sites including Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, or you can stream it directly from Spotify. (Be aware that another band called Head North and based in New York has released two EP’s called Arrows and Scrapbook Minds: these are nothing to do with us!)
Of course you can still buy a physical copy directly from us.
After months of recording, re-recording (!), mixing and mastering, our eponymous debut album is finally available. We’ve worked really hard on it and are really pleased with the result. Initial feedback has been tremendously positive.
The album contains twelve of our most-loved tracks, a mixture of upbeat instrumental reels and jigs, and beautiful Scottish songs – a tune for every occasion. The cover is illustrated with a beautiful watercolour painting by our very own Rachel Reed.
On Sunday 31st August from 1pm onwards, Head North will be launching our debut album during the Hattingley Valley Winery Charity Open Day. We’ll be playing two sets at 1pm and 3pm and we do hope that many of you will turn up to support us, buy an album, and enjoy the rest of the entertainment being offered.
If, however, the journey is simply too far, we’re hugely excited to announce that our sets will be available right here via live stream courtesy of our friends Real Streaming Live from 1pm UK time. If you like what you hear, head on over to the album page to order your copy of the album (£10 + postage).
The Live Stream is now finished.
Footage from today’s album launch will be added in the next few days.
